Geocache Description:

Ahhh... A multi-cache done Team C.O.B.R.A. style. Welcome to Dufferin Islands! Bring a lunch and your thinking cap. It;s time to discover a bit about the rich heritage and interesting history this area has to offer! You may actually LEARN something in the next little while. :)

Time to get to the nittygritty!

Overview
=========
This is a series of 5 caches which will eventually tell you the location of the final cache and allow you to log the book. This will be achieved by a series of scrolls hidden in this beautiful park which contain a bit of history about the area. They are listed as the following:

Cache 1 - Welcome to Dufferin Islands (Question A)
Cache 2 - Geological Formation (Question B)
Cache 3 - Early Settlement (Question C)
Cache 4 - The First Attraction (Question D)
Cache 5 - Recent Development (Question E)

The first cache is located at the waypoint listed in the cache page. At the bottom of each scroll you will find the coordinates for the next cache in line. When you reach "Cache 5 - Recent Development" you will have all the answers to solve the math puzzle in this description. This will tell you the FINAL CACHE LOCATION!

The Puzzle at Hand
==================
A - How Many Acres does Dufferin Islands cover?
B - Approx how may years ago did the Wisconsin Glacier recede?
C - What year did Samuel Street die?
D - How many cents did Sutherland Macklem charge per admission to his springs?
E - What year did Harry Oakes move into Oak Hall?

1st set of coordinates - B / A - 4833 = N43` 04.XXX'
2nd set of coordinates - E-C+D+281 = W079` 04.XXX'

Now go and find the final cache and log your visit... Maybe bring a camera because we have a request!

Cache Notes
===========
This is also a great opportunity to help Niagara Parks by practicing CACHE IN TRASH OUT! Bring a bag and collect any trash you find on the trails. We have tried our best to achieve the best accuracy for the caches. Coords were obtained while GPS had a 8-12ft accuracy. Also please do not trade any items in these caches. The only exceptions are geocoins and travel bugs. We allow them in the final cache.

Don't Be Worried About the NPC!
===============================
The NPC are aware of the locations of all the caches including the final cache. Don't be worried if people are looking at you strange. If you are asked simply explain you are geocachers and Team C.O.B.R.A. has worked with the NPC to place this one.

From the Niagara Parks Comission
================================
Team C.O.B.R.A. has worked closely with the Niagara Parks Commission to accurately depict the history of this area and place these caches so that the natural flora and fauna in the area is not disturbed. Team C.O.B.R.A. Geocachers and the Niagara Parks Commission ask you to exercise good safety habits at all times while on NPC property, especially during winter conditions of snow and ice. Please respect the area. Also... if you see any suspicious activity in the area we ask you to report it to the proper authorities.

Team C.O.B.R.A. Event Update
============================
Team C.O.B.R.A. Geocachers are planning an event in the future that will require YOUR photos! So we want to see photos of your cache hunt, or unusual stuff happening around the cache! Maybe even of you signing the log! So get those digital cameras ready, get out there and hunt those C.O.B.R.A. caches and when you are done come and post your pictures in the log or send them to stormshadow@cobraops.com and we’ll use those pictures for our upcoming geocaching event! Thanks for all your help everyone!
