Reviewer Appreciation Day - Georgia
The
event is from 10:30 to 12:30 at the Golden Corral in Lawrenceville.
There is a breakfast bar there where you can grab a bite to eat if
you would like and it will change over to the lunch while we are
there. Even if you do not wish to eat, please stop by anyway. We
will eat and socialize for a while; have a short presentation of
gratitude and then the Question and Answer session for our
Volunteer Geocache Reviewers.
As you may know, 2010 marks the 10th anniversary of Geocaching.
Also, as Geocachers, we hit a major milestone by achieving One
Million Active Geocaches placed. That’s
‘Active’! This doesn’t even include all of the
caches that have been placed and all the events that have been held
that are now archived. Our state of Georgia alone is approaching
9,000 cache hides.
How do all of these caches get published and made available for us
to hunt down and find? By Volunteers. The Ground Speak Geocache
Volunteer Reviewer.
There are three of these volunteers that have and continue to be
instrumental in making all of these caches available to us in the
state of Georgia (and elsewhere) over time and here is a chance to
express our appreciation.

Groundspeak statisticians have supplied the event with some
interesting numbers and facts, but you’ ll have to attend to
hear them. When you do hear these stats, you will be impressed and
come to understand how hard these volunteers work to keep us
cachers off of the couch and out into the world.
Since this event
is being held one week before GeoWoodstock 8, feel free to bring
some travel bugs as there will definitely be several in attendance
that will gladly give them a ride.
So stop by and say
thanks to these dedicated folks and have fun for Reviewer
Appreciation Day
