Famous Shawnee Leaders of Ohio Series
A series of 7 caches hidden along the paved Millcreek-Greenway Trail. They honor notable Shawnee leaders that were active in the Ohio Valley region. The trail runs along the Mill Creek that the Shawnee called "Maketewah" which meant “it is black” due to the the dark rich soil that made up the bed of the creek which was once was rich in wildlife.

Chalahgawtha Shawnee War Chief
Succeeded Cornstalk as principle Shawnee Chief. Captured Daniel Boone and adopted him as his son. Boone later escaped. Blackfish was injured during the 1778 siege on the settlement of Boonesborough KY and died later from his wounds.
