Geocache Description:

PARK HOURS 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Daily. $1. Entry
Fee Cache is in a natural rock garden.

Rickwood Caverns is the first operational caving park in Alabama. Formed by water flowing through limestone, the caverns are alive and still developing today.
This area was once ocean bed, and bits of shells and fossils of marine life can be found in the park's rock formations above and below ground.

Check out the blind fish in the cave - deprived of light for so many generations that they have adapted by losing their un-needed eyesight.

One of the loveliest parks in Alabama, with a train ride, camping, picnic areas, an event pavillion, swimming pool and cafeteria.

Oh - the cache, you ask? It's somewhere amongst all those rocks! You can access it from the event pavillion.

Placed with permission of the Park Manager, contact Ranger Russel at 205-647-9692 or email (visit link)
