This cache is the 1st of 8 in the series located along a historic narrow-gauge railroad bed that is now a scenic 4WD trail. (FDR327 / C120) The trail is easy and about 14 miles long. The RR history can be found on the Mont Alto cache page.
Cache Information: The Switzerland Trail follows the exact route that the trains of yesterday steamed along. The steel tracks are gone but the cutouts and built-up RR base are fun to drive on today. The scenic views on this trail should be rated 5 stars! Drive east on FDR327. Respect all private property posted areas by staying on the road. The Switzerland Trail is an easy drive that any licensed 4-wheel drive vehicle can handle. If the trail is dry a 2WD high clearance vehicle will do fine.
