Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the post coordinates!
The cache and other waypoints are found in the Wallkill Valley Cemetery so please be respectful.

You are looking for a small lock-n-lock container. There is room for small trade items. I left a magnet for first to find.

No grave or stone needs to be disturbed to find the cache.
The Cemetery is closed after dark.

This cache is in honor of my Uncle Bill and my grandfather. They are both buried in the Wallkill Valley Cemetery in the town of Montgomery.

My Uncle Bill (William D. Gillespie) was a next door neighbor who had a tractor and lots of old buildings on his property. I grew up helping him with all sorts of chores. I used his tractor to plow snow from his very long driveway and often painted and repaired those many buildings. He would always tell the story about his first job were he worked 7 days a week for $7. He was truly an inspiration to me and as part of this cache you will visit his grave. When you are there please tell him 'jmonti say thanks!'.
The headstone marking his birth and death can be found at these coordinates: N41 33.534 W074 10.108. You will need to know how many years he was alive in the 1800s.

My grandfather (Louis Cohen) passed away when I was quite young, but I can still remember the smell of his cigar. I very much wish that I got to know him better. You can find a foot stone marking his birth and death at N41 33.509 W074 09.977. You will need to know how old he was when he died and how many years he was alive in the 1800s.

I remember visiting this grave site with my mother and walking around to many of the very old graves up the hill from my grandpas grave. There is lots of history up that hill, especially the large monument located at N41 33.531 W074 09.949 and many of the surrounding graves just over the hill. You do not need to visit this monument to find the cache but I suggest you do.

From the coordinates of the monument subtract the age of my grandfather from the north coordinate, and add both Uncle Bill's and Grandpas years alive in the 1800s to the west coordinate to find the locations of the cache.

Again the cache is no in or around any grave stone or marker.
