This cache is located in Central Oregon southeast of Madras at an altitude of 5465 feet ASL.
The cache is located along a rocky backbone at the top of a ridge and is relatively well hidden. The view from the cache site is exceptional, with Hood, Jefferson, The Sisters, and numerous other peaks in attendance. You can also see an unnamed resevoir to the N/NE. The terrain is not too difficult, but the ridge itself will test your ankles, so wear appropriate footwear. Wit Camp is located 6.62 miles NE of the cache bearing 38 degrees true :)
The original contents of the cache are as follows:
- Bike water bottle
- 1911A1 keyfob
- Some seasoning for the crawfish you catch in the Deschutes
- A bag of rocks. (these were picked up at Edwards Air Force Base CA during the 50th Anniversary of Supersonic Flight airshow. Ever see a B52, B1B, & B2 flying in formation?)
- A multi-plier tool
- Puerto Vallarta keyfob
- Log book and standard "why is this here?" note.
