Geocache Description:

This cache is now in memory of our Dylandog who died in September 2013. He loved these woods and also accompanied us on most of our cache finds. This is one of 7 caches in 100 acre Pitcaple Wood. Wood is just recovering from forestry work/harvesting of trees. This is a favourite resting place for us all at the end of the walk with a bench nearby for a picnic or just to take in the view.

Car parking is just off the A96 just North of Inveramsay, near the railway bridge. See parking co-ords below. Head up the main forestry road which has a steady incline, but not steep, all the way to the cache. Avoid the muddy turning circle by taking the 'veer off' waypoint below. Good views towards Bennachie from near cache site. The paths all end up back on the main track. You can't get lost. We chose to place caches here really because it is our 'local' wood, and very close to us. I am here most days walking the dogs. Not too long or busy with people. The cache is a plastic 'click to shut' box. Please do not leave business cards in this cache. Thank you.
