Up a Creek Traditional Geocache

The cache is located in Tishomingo State Park. A major feature of the Park are rock outcroppings which are found nowhere else in Mississippi. The Park has 13 miles of hiking trails through these outcroppings and along Bear Creek as well as camping, canoeing, swimming and 3 disc golf courses. To reach the cache requires hiking the Outcroppings Trail, which is a 2 mile loop, beginning at a swinging bridge, ;There is plenty of parking at the swinging bridge.;

Finding this cache will take you to the turn-around (and then some!) loop of the outcroppings trail. The upper loop of the trail requires more climbing, but offers the best views of the outcroppings. ;The lower loop near Bear Creek has more gentle climbs and offers the best views of turtles (if you are quiet). The cache is near a creek beyond the loop of the Outcroppings Trail, and requires some gentle bushwhacking, there is very little undergrowth and the creek (except after a heavy rain) is narrow enough you can easily find places to step across if you need to. The cache is in plain sight and does not require any digging or moving stuff. Please make sure to close the container securely.
