The cache is in Chisolm Park. It used to be a virtual cache, but I decided we've got too many virtuals around here, so I converted it into a multi-cache. If you previously logged the virtual TOP SPOT cache, you may find the last leg of this one, and log a second "find."
For the first of the STOP SPOTS, the latitude and longitude you need to figure out are palindromes - the same frontwards and backwards. An example of palindrome coordinates would be N 34° 52.543 W 95° 14.159. The digits in the latitude, 3452543 and longitude 9514159 are the same if they are reversed. The name of this cache, STOP SPOTS, is a palindrome. Reverse the letters, and it's the same.
In this park are a set of latitude and longitude coordinates in the form N XX° XX.XXX W XX° XX.XXX such that the latitude and longitude are each palindromes. Figure them out, then go there!
Once you get to the first of the STOP SPOTS, find the utility pole that is approximately 80°, 30 meters away (depending on where the satellite gods place you). This is the second of the STOP SPOTS. There is a four-digit number attached to the pole, about 7 feet up. This is the clue to the final of the STOP SPOTS for the cache. Add the last three digits of the number to these coordinates to calculate the coordinates for the final of the STOP SPOTS:
N 32º51 | .308 |
|
W097º10 | .112 |
+ | .NNN |
|
+ | .NNN |
---------- | ---- |
|
---------- | ---- |
Cache container at the last of the STOP SPOTS is a green decon container, about twice the size of an Altoids tin. This park can be VERY busy, please make sure you are not seen at the cache itself.
