This multi-cache starts in Milford and ends up in Enfield. The only "real" walking you will have to do will be to find the cache (a trail in the woods).
Pen or pencil needed to record your information.
Since this is my first cache, I have included specific hints (locations) at the end to insure that you are able to find all the information. So, if you want a challenge, don't look at the hints unless you are having problems.
I hope that you enjoy the cache
Hello and welcome to my first cache.
Horse Information (F.Y.I.)-you do not need this information for the cache.
1. A horse has 18 more bones than a human.
2. A full grown bear can run as fast as a horse.
3. There is only one purebred horse and that is the Arabian.
4. The hand is a unit of measure that refers to the horse's height. A hand is equal to 4 inches.
5. According to my girls and Zooboomafoo ( a kid's t.v. show), the horse eye is very big - bigger than an elephants.
My two daughter absolutely love horse so I thought this would be a fun theme to follow.
Now on to the cache.......
Put on your riding boots and hop on your saddle (any type of horse power will do).
1. Before working for the day, your horse needs to eat in order to get the energy for it's long ride. Please go to N 45 03.196 W 063 25.916 to buy the feed. What time does this store open in the morning?
__:__ __ am
A : B C ie. A:BC am = 6:39am So A=6 B=3 C=9
You must use these numbers to fill in the missing numbers for your next co-ordinate!
2. *********
Because the sign has changed I am including the prices for the trail ride, as they were when I set up this
cache. Plus I am giving you the answer for E (see the medium length trail ride below)
N 45 00.5AB W 063 27.C22
If you were interested in going for a trail ride, check out this sign. How much would it cost you for a ride?
Short $ 6 D
****Medium $ 10 E (2nd digit of this answer ie. 10, so E would =0)
Long $ 20 F
3. Your horse has picked up a stone in it's hoof, please go to N 44 57.740 W 063 3E.743. What is the phone number for the vet?
__ __ __ - __ __ G __
And the two civic numbers top __ __ __ (third digit is H)
bottom __ __ __
4. N 44 57.3G9 W 063 31.9H2
Now you are going into a residential area for a ride but a horse drawn vehicle can only go on this road. Look at the two street names and choose the most appropriate name. ________________________________
How many letters are in this name? _____ Now take those digits and add them so you end up with a one digit number (this is K).
ie. Farming Road = 11 so 1+1=2 so your answer for K would equal 2
5. N 44 5D.509 W 063 K3.667
Fantastic Riding! Now go to this location and stretch out your legs. Tie your ride up to the Hitching Post (park your vehicle at the parking area). This area is the perfect spot to figure out the cache location.
CACHE: N44 5D.K17 W063 33.5AA
Your horse is probably thirsty, so let your horse wander while you look for the cache. The river is close by and the cache is just off the path. Happy trails!
