Geocache Description:

In 1973 a secret and independent military intelligence agency was exposed in a series of articles by journalists Jan Guillou and Peter Bratt. This agency was in no way controlled by the Parliament. In fact only a few people in the inner circle of the cabinet and the top military were aware of its existence.

 

Birger Elmén. Head of IB according to the articles   IB’s headquarter was located in an apartment on the 4th floor of this building (number 56).



Hiding behind the facades of fake companies this agency carried out all the classical spy “dirty-work” that other agencies couldn’t. This also involved spying on Swedish citizens, registering their political views. This scandal became known as the “IB-affair” and is probably Sweden’s equivalent to Watergate. Strangely enough the two journalists were sentenced to prison for espionage, nobody else.

One of IB's secret mailboxes was never recovered. Maybe you can find it. However, it seems like it is still being watched by foreign agents (the cache has already gone missing once). Make sure you're not being followed or observed when logging.
