Geocache Description:

Across the lake from Granville, TN on Brooks Bend in Jackson
County. Can be accessed by boat and a good climb (terrain 5) or by
land (1.5mi hike in, terrain 4). Great view from the cache
site!

Initially placed by beegirl13 in September 2005 but we adopted it after she moved out of the area. This cache was in danger of being archived but I didn't want to see it go; its one of my favorites.

Originally this was a 5 terrain due to the need for a boat to get to the cache and took over a year for the FTF, but thanks to the ingenious Dr_Dan2 breaking on through we now have an on and off trail hike to the cache. Its a 1.5 mile hike in from the parking waypoint below. I'd give it a 4 terrain for the hike and a 5 (special equipment needed) for the boat ride. If you're gonna' hike it, why not pick up his cache ("GC1MHNQ" Break on Through to "The Other Side") as well?

Below is beegirl13's original text, of course the second to find prize is long gone but there is still some good swag in the cache:

Across the lake from Granville, TN. Some climbing up step-like rocks, need
a boat to reach the area. Bring a rope to tie up your boat, because
there's no good place to haul out when the water is high. Tie up
(or haul out during low water times) in the little inlet just south
of the cache.

Joe and I placed this cache on a visit to my parents'
campground that is just across the lake from the cache. Cache is a
~1 gallon screw-top Rubbermaid container wrapped in duct tape.

STF prize still available - brand new, unactivated TB tag.

Trade items as of 9/06: mini first aid kit, poncho, mini fan, GEO decals,
geocaching temp tattoos, mosquito repellent, etc. Be careful of the
rusty barbed wire and poison ivy that can be seen on the way up the
rocks. There's also some evidence of hunters, but not sure how much
the area is frequented. Be sure to check out the cacti that grow
wild on top of the rocks near the cache.

Congrats to keymaker and vesole for the FTF, one year and 26 days after
placement!
