Geocache Description:

Near an interesting stone ruin not far from Highway 154 overlooking the Santa Ynez river back country.

There are two ways to get to the cache. Terrain rating of 2 assumes starting from above and walking downhill. (Of course you 'll need to walk back up.) Starting from below is more strenuous but more interesting, terrain rating of 3.5 to 4.

Mountain bikes and dogs are welcome. No restrictions on hours. There is some poison oak in the vicinity of the cache.

Fees: If you drive to the trailhead and plan on starting from below, you risk a parking ticket without a Forest Service Adventure Pass, $5 for a day or $30 per year. This is not the case should you start from above.

Although the cache size is indicated as regular, due to the specialized nature of the container, smaller items are preferred.

It is not necessary or recommended to bushwhack to the cache site from the castle. Do some exploration of the road/trail for an easier way.

While you're in the neighborhood, visit Hawk's Eye View (GC863E) nearby.
