Geocache Description:

You will need a non motorized boat for this cache. The waters of Alma Pond are classified quiet waters - once there you will discover the beauty of keeping it that way. You are under no obligation to try for this cache.

This is #3 in "The Caches of Allegany County" Series, located in the township of Alma. The goal of this series is to place a cache in every township in Allegany County.

There are miles of marsh on the east end of this long pond and posted property on the west end. The cache is located roughly half way from either end on a jut of land. Several DEC boat launch sites are avaiable all along Four Mile Road with plenty of off road parking. Fishing is especially good here and many people enjoy the solitude and nature. When placing this cache we watched three bald eagles soaring and diving the entire time we were there. About thirty feet South of the cache is more posted property all the way to the PA State Line. Please be respectful of nature and private property.

While there you can find my other other cache "Alma Pond" located on the Four Mile Road side in a very busy fishing spot with a boat lauch site.
