UPDATE: Weather is great, everything is on target. Come for the fun. The road to get to the cache is under repair right now and as such there is some loose gravel on the road. If you want, you can download the waypoints for the game in advance here. See you soon!
This one will be a little different than the last two events that Mr. Speedy and family attended. We want to start it later in the afternoon (around 4 PM) going into the evening. There will be a bonfire on which we can all roast hot-dogs, marshmallows and otherwise. Other food to share will be available. If you want to bring anything to share, please contact us and we will keep track of what everybody is bringing.
The idea is to have a good time around a nice bonfire and chat about geocaching, the universe and everything! Take the little ones with you! There will be lots of fun for kids too. There will be a fun geocaching game for little ones and not-so-little ones! There will be a play park, sand box, and other kids toys. There are also some small animals to see and pet! Bush Creatures volunteered to give younger ones (or anyone who think they need it) a quick and easy survival and orienteering course. We might be able to see stars and perhaps even a planet! This should a good time and a lot of fun for everyone.
As much as we love dogs, they will not be allowed at the event, as there will be young kids and small farm animals. Thank you for your understanding.
The cache is on private land, but don’t worry, I got full written permission from the landowner!
Please bring your own lawn chairs, as there will not be enough seating place for everyone if you don’t. Also bring your roasting stick if you have one.
Weather is a bit of an unknown. If it is rainy, there is no shelter to hide under, and if it is too windy, it could be dangerous (and/or impossible) to build a fire so please check this cache page before the event for updates. If the weather does not co-operate, we might have to reschedule or cancel.
So what do you think folks? How about a good’ol geocaching Spring party?
