How Geocaching Works
Well-known surfing area in Ocean Beach. If you go when the tide is high it make make this one even more challenging.
Locals & surfers know this area very well. You can park within a block of the cache, but there's no way you can bike to the cache.
The trek is a bit steep going down with loose dirt and rocks.
The cache is a cylindrical container that is white. However, it is not in plain sight. 5 inches in height, 12 inches in circumference, 4.5 inches wide. It is about 20 Ounces in size.
Don't get your attention diverted by ocean junk, bottles, etc. Those aren't the cache.
Your GPS device will probably go crazy - ours did. But you can use the waypoint that gives you a "nearby" overhead view as well as others to keep you in the vicinity. None of them are on the nose because GPS in this area is jumpy.
DON'T LOOK AT THE HINT UNLESS YOU'RE TOTALLY STUCK!
Only rules are:
1 - Take a picture of yourself with the contents of the cache.
2 - Leave your mark on the log
3 - Secure the contents in the container tightly
4 - Drop your picture off at geocaching.com
