The idea for this cache as well as all the pictures and description have been made by ShadowLord. Unfortunately this cache got archived, we thought it would be such a pity when all the wonderfull work of ShadowLord will get lost and, after contacting him, we have ractivated it.
A sul da conhecida Praia de Monte Clérigo está a Praia do Medo da Pipa (Conhecida como Praia da Pipa ou Praia das Lajes) e a do Medo da Fonte Santa. O termo "medo" deve-se à localização das duas praias estarem exactamente junto ao "medo" que lhes dá no nome.
Medos ou Medões são simplesmente dunas. Neste caso são dunas consolidadas de arenitos eólicos de cimento carbonatado, formados ao longo dos tempos pela acção eólica naquela zona.
Estas praias são procuradas maioritariamente por pescadores uma vez que têm um acesso complicado. Não têm estruturas de apoio e nem são vigiadas.
Pela praia podem ver variadas fontes de água doce que nascem por ali e que vos podem matar a sede.
Existem nas dunas, em certas alturas do ano, umas pequenas bagas brancas (a imagem de fundo desta pagina). São uns pequenas frutos comestiveis chamados Camarinhas.
Esta cache leva-vos a visitar estas duas praias numa "pequena" caminhada, aconselhando-os por isso a usarem calçado confortável. Deixem o carro no parque de estacionamento e partam daqui a pé até ao primeiro ponto.
Usem apenas os caminhos existentes nas dunas. Tenham muito cuidado com as marés. Se tiverem problemas com alturas ou não se sentirem confiantes com terrenos soltos não façam esta cache. A sua segurança em primeiro lugar.
Deixem o primeiro ponto tal como o encontraram.
Esta cache está no Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejano e da Costa Vicentina. Não se esqueçam então de ajudar a preservar a Natureza e a beleza natural do local, algum lixo que encontrem na praia ou nas dunas levem-no para junto dos contentores do parque de estacionamento - Cache In, Trash Out!
Devido ás condições do local esta cache dá trabalho e foi feita mesmo para isso, não é drive-in ;)

At south of the well known Monte Clérigo beach are Medo da Pipa beach and Medo da Fonte Santa beach. The term "medo" (which direct translation mean "fear") is due to the location of the two beaches are just next to the "medo" that gives them the name.
Medos are simply dunes. In this case are consolidated dunes of aeolian sandstones of carbonated cement, formed over time by wind action in that area.
These beaches are visited mostly by fishermen as they have a difficult access. They haven't support structures and are n't monitored.
In the beach you can see many sources of fresh water that are born there and that you can drink.
There are in the dunes, at certain times of the year, some small white berries (the background image of this page). They are a small edible fruit called Camarinhas.
This cache takes you to visit these two beaches in a short walk, advising you to use comfortable shoes. Leave the car in the parking area and depart from here to the first point.
Use only the existing paths in the dunes. Be very careful with the tides. If you have problems with heights or do not feel confident in loose terrains do not do this cache. Your safety first.
Leave first step as you find it.
This cache is in the Natural Park of Southwest Alentejo and Costa Vicentina. Then do not forget to help preserve nature and natural beauty of the place, any garbage you have find on the beach or in the dunes please take it to the container in the car park - Cache In, Trash Out!
Due to the local conditions this caches gives you some work and was made even for that. It's not a drive-in cache ;)
