Up a road that may, or may not, require 4WD depending on the time of year, you will find a ridge (above 9,000 feet) with sweeping vistas of the High Sierras and the Mono Lake Basin. Bring your camera in the evening when the quality of light is most spectacular. PLEASE, PLEASE post your pictures here.
It's soooooo quiet up here. The only sound is the wind. Take some time to explore further. Lee Vining is far below and you can really see how truly small a town it is from this height. The Log Cabin Wilderness Boy Scout camp is further up the same road. Maybe a few scouts can get their Geocaching Merit Badge on this hunt.Enjoy this place. The cache is an afterthought.Good luck!
