Near the summit of Trilliums Hill, along the Tunxis Trail.
Hike along the Tunxis Trail, in the Tunxis State Forest. The cache is near the summit of Trilliums Hill (elevation 1281', alternate spelling: Trillum). As you walk, you will go through a beautiful Hemlock forest, pass an old cellar foundation of a 19’Th century home, and the "DEP Tunxis State Forest letterbox". Wear bright orange during hunting season (October through December)! There is good satellite reception at the summit and at the cache.
Some technical information: The hiking distance to the cache is just over a half mile, and the total elevation gain is about 200' (my hiking time to the cache was 15 minutes). You are looking for an ammo box! There are some ledges near the cache but you should be able to get to the cache without going over any of them. Needless to say, the walk is not excessively strenuous. Trailhead Parking is along Route 20, at N 42 00.969, W 72 55.203.
