You can park at the main parking area. The eagle was once on the endangered list. Through protecting the birds and the location of their nests, the eagles are now thriving. The female eagle is larger than the male eagle. They have a white head and tail. The immature who are the eagle babies, are all black. They have a wing span up to six feet. Sometimes you can see them fish in the Hudson River.

Starting at the main parking lot you can see the many things that our park has to offer. Adults and children enjoy the new playground and open field to play in. We even have shelters to protect you from the sun and rain. You may even see an eagle fly over head towards the north. The items in the cache are park souvenirs and do not need to be replaced with a trade item.

Schodack Island State Park is open during the summer months from 7:00am to sunset and 7:00am to 4:30pm the rest of the year.
