Geocache Description:

A beautiful boating cache.

Kissimmee River Recipe Cache
Welcome to Kayakanimal’s first cache. I decided to make a recipe cache. But I did make it a “little” hard to get to. You MUST have a boat to get to this cache. This is on the “old” section of the river. The Army Corp of Engineers some years ago straightened the river to control flooding. Now they are putting most of the river back to it’s original course. This old section is BEAUTIFUL! It is generally an easy paddle except (like most rivers) when it is running high. You can also use a power boat on the river.
To get to the cache you can launch a boat at the ramp off of highway 98. Watch for the sign that says S-65C and follow it to the boat ramp. Once in the water take the river entrance on the left (watch for the River Channel sign). Follow the river upstream. The cords for the boat ramp are N 27° 23.957 W 081° 07.019
You can also launch a canoe or kayak from where the Istopoka Canal crosses highway 98 about 1 mile west of the turn off for the boat ramp. Take the canal NE. When you hit the river turn right (downstream) to find the cache. The cords for the canal launch are
N 27° 23.941 W 081° 09.725
I placed the cache at high water. When the river is normal height this is a beautiful section of the river because… (decrypt below for hints)

Inside the cache you will find recipes for:
Dump Cake (my favorite!)
Peppery Philly Steak Sandwiches
New Orleans Pralines (candy, my wife’s favorite)

Also in the cache you will find a log book, pens, and a Certificate of FTF (First To Find). Whoever is the FTF is welcome to it.

If you would like to take a recipe home please bring one with you to place in the cache. If you want you may just copy any of them.
