SUBMISSION PROCESS HAS CHANGED
(See # 7)
Challenge caches have become
quite popular. In fact on a local groups board (GONIL) there was a discussion recently on
ones in the Illinois area.
Living in De Kalb county we have
got used to the fact that while we have many quality caches, people
tend to go east unless they have specific reasons for coming
out.
Here is your reason to visit us
out here. We have electric, running water and everything. Some of
the towns are even going to put in metal to replace the wood
hitchin' posts, but that's really just a rumor.
You are, of course, free to find
this cache at any time, however to log
the cache on-line you need to follow the
guidelines as listed below.
1. You must log a physical cache
in each of the listed De Kalb County Illinois zip code. In a case
where a zip code crosses county borders, physical cache must be
located within De Kalb County.

2. Caches placed and approved on
geocaching.com may be counted
toward this challenge.
Finders may use caches they have placed for credit
as long as the were placed on or prior to 18-MAY-09 and then only
if cache meets all other requirements
3. Only physical cache types that
are placed/approved on geocaching.com count for a find,
(Traditional,
Mystery/Puzzle,
Project APE,
Multi,
Letterbox
Hybrid, Unknown).
Caches that have been archived since the find log will
count.
4. The following types
DO NOT count toward this
challenge;
5. Mystery/Puzzlecaches
will only count if one of the physical legs or final cache location
fall within the zip code boundaries. Coordinates being used for
credit must be submitted.
6. Due to changes in how GC
interacts with GE, a new process for submission is now in
place.
** The first will assure the
quickest turnaround. Email a GPX/LOC file of the caches
to dekalbzipper@gmail.com
that are being used for the challenge. This
email is used soley for this purpose and all other emails are
deleted. You may also want to drop a note to baloo&bd
via geocaching.comas
insurance.
** The second is much slower
verification-wise however will work. Set-up a public bookmark list.
The list should contain the 18 caches for submission as well
as this cache itself for a total of 19. Please send the bookmark
link to baloo&bd via geocaching.com.
****PLEASE ONLY USE ONE
METHOD, NOT BOTH****
*****AFTER VERIFICATION IS
CONFIRMED PLEASE DELETE YOUR BOOKMARK LIST OR MAKE IT
NON-PUBLIC*****
Verification will be sent
after confirmation so list may be erased.
7 As soon as email
with requirements is sent, you are free to log the cache
on-line. Logs are subject to approval and may only be logged on
or after the date requirements are sent to baloo&bd. On-line logs are
subject to verification and may be deleted at
anytime.
8. Google Earth will be used to settle
zip code boundaries disputes.
9. Inappropriate logs can and
will be deleted at anytime.
10. Cachers are required to
have fun while completing challenge.
