Geocache Description:

This cache is placed along the St Mary’s Butts near to Reading’s first church also called St Mary’s. Please note, the cache is not in the grounds of the church nor is the cache hidden in the perimeter wall of the church.

This is a very busy area and stealth will be required but with care you’ll be able to go mostly unnoticed as you retrieve, sign and replace the cache in the same location, good luck!

The church has an interesting external chequer board pattern which was created with stones taken from the nearby Reading Abbey. The oldest part of the church is the door which dates right back to Saxon times and the main part of the church is 11th century.

You are looking for a magnetic nano. There's no pencil so don’t forget to bring one.

Not at ground level!!
