A multi cache placed to encourage you to visit the new War Memorial in Hockley.
PLEASE NOTE: The co-ordinates above are not for the cache location but for the memorial itself. Parking is available at several car parks in the town.
Armistice day this year will mark the 90th anniversary of the end of the First World War and this cache is placed in memory of all the men from Hockley & Hawkwell who died in service for their country.
I have done some research into the men from this area killed in the Great War and if you think you may be related to any of the names on the memorial, please get in touch.
The co-ordinates for the cache are as follows:

In order to find the missing coordinates, you need to answer the following questions:
1. How many letters are in the surname of the man whose first names are Thomas Wright? Answer = A.
2. How many men have the surname Baker? Answer = B.
3. How many men killed in the First World War have the name Edward included in their first name? Answer = C.
4. How many men were awarded the DSM in the First World War? Answer = D.
5. Two men have the surname Sutton, one was called George and the other was called ? How many letters in his name? Answer = E.
6. How many people have the unusual surname Himpett? Answer = F.
Before making your way to the cache, please take time to pay your respects to the fallen.
Once you have the answer's, you can either walk down Woodlands Road and into the woods or return to your car and park at the coordinates shown.
