There is VERY good parking at the Indian Hill Trail Head Parking
Area just off of Route 31 east of Turk Hill Road. I know of NO
other good parking that you can access the trails from without
crossing POSTED land (PLEASE make the hike and DON’T take the short
way a crossed someone’s yard.) Posted hours are 8:00am to Dusk
Please be respectful of them.
REMEMBER YOU ARE GUEST on the trail system………
Not a park and grab. A wonderful 2 mile hike (one way) brings you
along the Yellow to the Blue and on to the Orange trails of the
Crescent Trail System to the area of GZ. This well maintained trail
system winds it way through private property so PLEASE stay on the
WELL marked trails. The cache is within arms length (well…. maybe
two) of the trail so no need to venture off the trail to find the
cache. I averaged over 450 readings to get the coords for the hide,
but even though my Garmin said less than 10 feet averaged to the
cache it maybe a bit more. I was getting 15 to 18 foot accuracy all
evening, but I was off 20 to 40 feet from all the caches in the
area that I stopped by and checked on. The cache is a cammoed
Altoids tin starting off with a RED JEEP taped to it, a scrap of
paper for a log and a Steel Penny Signature item. NO PEN OR PENCLE
SO PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN. I did not have my standard FTF prize of a
GOLDEN $1 coin with me so there is an IOU out for the FTF and I
will get it to the FTF after the find somehow.
Have FUN and remember your GUEST status…………
Congrats to Wheelygood on the FTF
