Geocache Description:

A nice hike in the East section of Forest Park.

Forest Park, the third largest park in Queens, covers 543 acres, 411 of them wooded. This flagship park sits on an ancient glacial ridge overlooking the Southern plains of Jamaica Bay.

Forest Floor is our first cache. It’s a large Lock & Lock hidden in an unconventional location.
Cache is located less than 100 feet off the Blue trail.

To access the blue trail, I would recommend parking at the parking lot near the bandshell and walking east across Woodhaven Blvd. This way you get to enjoy the trails. For those of you that prefer the cache and dash...you can park on Union Turnpike and access the trail from the bridal path. Following the bridal path to the right will take you under the RR tracks. YOU DO NOT NEED TO WALK ACROSS THE TRACKS!

Original contents...logbook, trinkets for trading, and one of joefrog’s famous marshmallow guns.

How happy is the little stone
That rambles in the road alone,
And doesn’t care about careers,
And exigencies never fears;
Whose coat of elemental brown

A passing universe put on;
And independent as the sun,
Associates or glows alone,
Fulfilling absolute decree
In casual simplicity.

Happy hunting!
