During excavation for the building of this wonderful, well used pedestrian overpass, a boulder was dislodged at this point and rolled 82 metres before coming to rest on top of a collection of fossils - "Mother Natures's Geocache". These ammonites and bivalves were found in the Tyaughton Creek area of BC. Please take only one per person. Thanks.
Please replace cache carefully for the next finder. - there is a FTF prize of an unactivated FTF coin - ENJOY
Congratulations to kophykupp for her FTF.
Also, e-mail me with your ideas on what type of rock the boulder is, plus the geological formation name and Period (age) of the boulder. Take a picture to show a geologist friend. First correct set of answers gets an unactivated Red-Handed Micro coin.
Congratulations to Geomac who was first to identify the boulder as a Conglomerate from the Cadomin Formation - it is Cretaceous in age.
