Consider Pi; 3.141592654
If you look at it as a date it can be interpreted as 3/14/15 at 9:26:54am.
Pi is used as a mathematical constant to calculate circumference and/or area, and can in some ways be loosely tied to Geospatial measurements and therefore geocaching. C’mon, I said “loosely”
Geography uses Degrees, Minutes and Seconds, and Time uses Minutes and Seconds, and Pie uses Degrees. Work with me here.
For Las Vegas, 36 degrees of Latitude bisects the southern portion of town. If we use 36 degrees and then the value of Pi for the minutes we get a coordinate of N 36 3.14159. Combine that with a Longitude of W 115 10.2600 and you get a great place to meet.
It would be difficult to keep a pie right at 36 degrees Fahrenheit, but if you had a warm piece of pie with a scoop of ice cream on top, somewhere in that combination you would find some 36 degree pie.
We’ll bring along some warm pies, a cooler of ice cream and some paper plates and plastic spoons, at least enough for the first 36 who sign up. There is plenty of parking at the GZ for a tailgate party, and nearby facilities.
