This hunt consists of two caches; the first is a sub-micro cache, and the second optional cache is a standard military surplus container.
The park closes at dusk, and sorry, but dogs are not allowed here...
This park is approximatly 34 acres in size, and while being part of the Racine Park System, it is also administered by the DNR as a State Natural Area. This park consists of two slightly elevated East/West swells that are seperated by a small creek. The park was purchased by Racine County in 1930, and was designated a state natural area due to the discovery of several unusual plants, including several on the state list of species of special concern, in 1967. This preserve contains several varieties of very large, old oak trees, mixed with many other hardwoods such as hickories and maples. A few trails cut through sections of the woods, but other than their entrances, they are not well marked. A road circles through the park to many picnic areas, but is only open to vehicles April through October; the remaining time it is used by joggers. A fully equipped campground is also available during those months.The first stage of this cache is probably the smallest cache you will ever hunt... yet it is watertight, very durable and strong, and not only contains a log sheet but even two micro pencils. The difficulty level of this cache is based on this first stage. Due to its size and the tricky concealment, this should be a very difficult find. Extreme accuracy and cleverness will be very handy in the hunt. Please note how the log sheet is inserted into the container when you remove it, this will make its replacement much easier. Be careful not to drop and loose the two pencils, they're small!The log sheet has the co-ordinates to the second, optional cache. After you log the first stage, feel free to hunt this second, more traditional cache. The container has four clasps, only two open completely, but all four must be unclasped to open. Make sure all four are re-locked before replacing it to keep moisture out. You may log a find on each of the caches you locate. The second cache is starting out with the following items:
