We love visiting this great zoo!
The coordinates above are where we parked when we set up this cache. We love coming to this zoo and thought we might add a little enticement for others to visit as well. Yes, you'll have to pay to enter the zoo unless you already have a membership. No, you cannot get the coordinates by visiting the zoo's web page or by Googling. Yes, you'll have a lovely time. The cache name was selected by *pixie* - likes the way it sounds when you say it just right.
There are 4 waypoints (signs) around the zoo. You need to visit each of the four, collect some information and then compute the final coordinates. The cache is placed outside the zoo within .3 miles.
WP1: N 47 40.105 W 122 21.141. This is a sign at the entrance of one of the zoo's newer exhibits. There is a track of paw prints across the sign. Count these. That number is AB. There is a 4 digit number at the bottom of the sign. Those digits are CDEF.
WP2: N 47 40.197 W 122 21.014. You are looking for a metal directional indicator (with the four cardinal directions). Count the number of animals on this sign. That number is G.
WP3: N 47 40.261 W 122 20.979. You want to look at the left hand sign of the two signs here (first letters of each word in the heading: WITWCYFE?) Count the number of animals pictured on the sign. That number is H.
WP4: N 47 40.162 W 122 21.150. You want the leftmost sign, titled: Ponies and Horses, What's the difference? There are three sets of numbers on the last line of the sign. Those numbers are IJ, KL, and M.
Now that you've had a nice walk around the zoo, find a seat and do a little simple math.
N = A+D
O = (B+C)*E
P = F+M
Q = L-(2*K)
R = I
S = G+H-J+F
The cache is located at N 47 40.NOP W 122 21.QRS.
