A small cache at the end of the Nikau Creek track.
A small cache located at the top of the Nikau Creek track. The track is in the Wainuiomata Recretion Reseserve and access is via the Gums Loop Track. To access these tracks you can park at the top of Hine Road or on Reservoir Road, both have plenty of parking. If your riding the bus to this area, you can catch the 170 Wainuiomata bus and get off at the top of Hine Road. You are looking for a small plastic snap-lok box painted brown. Cache is within 2m of "end of track" sign.
Other caches near by are the Sledge stump cache and one of the oldest caches the Kevin Anderson cache.
Also within the park are a number of swimming holes, there is one at the start of the Gums Loop walk, a second aprox 1km along Reservoir Road down a track and a third at the start of the sledge track. All these spots are marked with signs.
