Cache in Trash out event in South Central Nebraksa at a Department of Roads lake that gets NO!!!! maintenance.
WHERE: Alda I-80 Interchange
WHEN: May 21st @ 1pm
WHAT TO BRING: Yourself and family
Insect repellant (tick country)
Water bottle (will have water for refills)
Gloves
Trash bags to be provided by the Dept of Roads.
There are restrooms nearby, however you may need to buy a pack our gum or something to use them :).
We will be doing this CITO in conjunction with Boy Scout Troop 120 from Grand Island. Afterwards the Troop will host a cookout and get together at Morman Island state rec area. This is a permit required area. Most of us have permits but if you don't and don't want to purchase one, there is parking outside the park. You can walk or catch a ride in.
There are caches in the area and we hope the local cachers will go all out to provide more by the Event date.
Please log how many people will be attending so the Scouts know how much "stuff" to get for the cookout. You don't need to bring anything, but if you want to bring something feel free.
Camping is available at Morman Island state rec area, Windmill state rec area and Fort Kearney state rec area. If you want to camp and can make reservations, we recommend you do so. There are also a couple of motels at the Grand Island interchange as well as in town.
