This is a re-loading of Stubby Holders' first cache in September
2001. It went missing without being found. I suspect a Currawong
but it might have been a Parks Ranger.
This cache is in a slightly different location (Currawong proofed).
It requires 4 to 5 hours strenuous walking (return). You will need
food, water, sunscreen and bushwalking gear. It may be hard to get
a good GPS fix up the top (which means my coordinates might be a
bit out also) so use the photo clues for assistance.

January 9 by geoffmallo (8 found) Mallos did it with some friends. We were going up the mountain to Chinaman's gully for the night and this was a good lunch time activity with the kids on the way. We think Daniel may be the youngest to climb and overnight on Solitary at 6. Loved the guard!

September 13, 2009 by timlioli (92 found) An easy find after camping overnight nearby. This was my first trip to this location on my first overnight hike. It was nice to meet a couple of other cachers, Tronador and Old Sod, on top of the ruined castle on the way. My muscles were all aching, carrying the heay pack for the first time took more out of me than I would like to admit. But this is the start of my training towards the goal of climbing Mt Kilimanjaro, so there will be plenty more aching muscles to come yet.TFTC and the guard who is watching it.

August 22, 2009 by hamITup (49 found) Found this one after a long walk, but a short hunt. It was getting late in the day by the time I got to GZ so luckily it can be found easily. The serpent gave me a brief startle even though I expected it, but I left him undisturbed to scare another day. The last part of the climb is quite steep so sensible shoes are a must. It got dark on the way back but a simple torch is all you need to stay on track. It is very well marked and you'll probably find some overnight campers. A really lovely walk and next time I'll visit the Ruined Castle - there wasn't time today. Thanks for the cache - the views of the Jamison Valley are lovely up there and most of the walk is quite easy going.

August 15, 2009 by dog leg (20 found) I started from the Golden Stairs at 8:00 am and it was a spectacular day, very still and sunny. The walk to the base of the knife edge was uneventful except for a lyrebird. The climb up was great. Every time I clambered up and over rocks I was greeted with magnificent views back towards Narrow Neck and the Ruined Castle. This is a must do walk. When I got to the cache I had the tripe scared out of me. Someone had strategically placed a plastic snake right where my hand was about to go. Fortunately my heart recovered enough for me to express some choice expletives before grabbing the cache and signing the log book. If you go for this cache beware the Chinese snake!TNLN

November 16, 2008 by chippym (31 found) What an amazing place to be, looking back at the three sisters from the other side of the Jamison Valley. Rikki and a mate of ours packed up and headed off early, down the golden staircase, out and up to the cache. On this day it was overcast and was glad for it would have been tough on a hot one. Thanks for the cache. TNLN.
