Geocache Description:

This cache offers some great views, fairly steep hike and some minor rock scrambling. You will have an elevation gain of around 500 feet total. Shoes with good tread are a must! Should only require about 2 hours round trip as the trail is short (2.9 miles round trip), but challenging.

To arrive at the starting point go north on Highway 101 to the Highway 1/Morro Bay exit, go to the Los Osos/Baywood Park exit. Go left under the bridge and take road for a mile or so to parking lot on left (N35 20.845 W120 49.568 approximately). Park in the lot and take the trail NE.

You'll pass the turn off for Live Oak Trail. You'll end up taking a left off the main trail to hike up the hill toward the natural feature that gives this cache it's name (sort of). There are two opportunities to take this left. The first one is by a big boulder. I suggest going past the boulder and taking the 2d trail up the hill. When you take this left, you'll be heading directly toward the cache location. I would advise everyone to STAY ON THE TRAIL! This is a POISON OAK PRIORITY AREA! Beware the power of oak!

This cache is named "Easler Island" because my surname is Easler and the cache is hidden around a rock formation which resembles famous ones on Easter Island. To find the cache once you reach the formation, look near the part of the body called the "External Occipital Protuberance". A quick Internet search or a copy of Gray's Anatomy should help figure this one out...

The cache includes a logbook and pen, a disposable camera, some military paraphenalia, and some sunscreen.
