The Cache Across America Series: This is a series of caches that will take you on a caching tour of the entire United States. One cache is hidden in each of the 50 states. These caches each contain a numeric clue that will lead you to one final cache located in our nation's capital upon completion of the series.

About this cache: This cache is placed in what I think is a typical Colorado high country vista. Here you can see both the old and the new of Colorado. To get to it you have to navigate a 2WD dirt road and either (a) a short uphill hike or (b) the available jeep trail (see map below).

This cache is close to examples of what makes Colorado unique. The main parking is part of a ghost town (Caribou). There are silver mines about, both old and new. To the south is Eldora ski area. And to the north is Indian Peaks Wilderness and Rocky Mountain National Park. Nearby are the eclectic towns of Nederland and Ward; and off to the east is the booming Front Range metropolis.

Spring brings new growth, for both plant and animal; summer fills the fields with flowers; fall drops the color and temperature; and in the winter lots of snow, wind and solitude. Plan your visit wisely.
