Geocache Description:

Another spectacular tree to see while in the Quinault rain forest.

7/19/12 update: Hard to believe it has been almost 10 years since posting this cache! Due to lack of trail maintenance, the Terrain rating has been updated. For those who still decide to go, be forewarned, dress appropriately, and wear sturdy shoes!

This virtual cache is at the location of "The World's Largest Western Red Cedar". You must cross a stream to get there, so the difficulty would be a 4 or 5 during times of high water (Spring runoff, for example) - be forewarned and be careful! Allow about 4 hours to make the round-trip.

As there are no signs, etc., you can "find the cache" by emailing me with the ALTITUDE of the cache (readings within 50 feet either way will be accepted) OR by posting a photo of yourself at the base of the tree.

Take a lunch, have fun, and check out "Quinault Cascade" enroute!
