It's that time again -- time to get our hands dirty, log a smiley, and help out the Topeka community!!!!
What: Topeka's 2nd Annual CITO Event
When: Saturday, April 26, 2014
Time: 9:30 am to 11:30 am
Where: The coordinates are for parking. We will be clearing trash from the Deer Creek Trail
What to bring: Your work or caching gloves, a pointy stick, water, your GPSr, and caching gear
What else: PRIZES! Red Hat Promotions, GXProxy, and Groundspeak are donating door prizes to be given away at the start of the event!
April 26 and 27 is Groundspeak's annual CITO Weekend. All around the world, thousands of geocachers will walk away from their events with bags of trash and a sense of pride. They’re preserving the natural beauty of our world. Here in Topeka we'll gather at the posted coordinates and do our part by clearing litter from the Deer Creek Trail.
Again this year, attendees will automatically be participating in the Keep America Beautiful "Get Down and Get Dirty" event. Keep America Beautiful will provide a free lunch to attendees and will host a drawing for some really nice prizes at the Gage Park amphitheater at noon.
Please bring your trash bags to the collection area near the amphitheater so we can weigh the trash collected this day.
Please post a "Will Attend" log so that we can plan ahead. See you there!
