Geocache Description:

Game closed.
  • The gift certificates will be handed out at the picnic. If you cannot make it to the picnic please e-mail me asap with the cards you have and we'll figure something out. The certificates will be dinner for two at Mickey Dees ($10) and dinner for two at Elephant Bar ($30).

  • In an effort to shut down Waldo's poker game the Feds have been keeping an eye on him. So to keep one step ahead Waldo has decided to move his poker game every friday. Can you keep up? This is a multi-cache. Every stage is a cache of seven cards sealed in envelopes. There will be 8 caches total, 1 posted every friday at a different location. Only take one card from a cache. The only wild cards are the jokers which there are four of. The best five card hand will receive a gift certificate at a local restuarant. The worst five card hand will receive a gift certificate at a place I like to refer to as Mickey Dees. Please do not take a card unless you plan to finish the game. Each cache will be considered to be active as long there is a card there and therefore can be logged as a find by anyone even if you don't take a card. Rules may be updated as needed.
  • STAGE 1: N 38 38.261 W 121 12.585 Free parking where Gold River Blvd meets Hazel ave. at the CSUS Aquatic Center or paid parking at the Lake Natomas Rec area. Waldo was getting anxious to get this game underway since the Feds have just closed down his "Where's Waldo Dining" game. Good luck and see how "Well" you do on the first stage. Ante up.
  • Stage 2: N 38 43.514 W 121 10.326 Waldo was reminiscing with some of his buddies on this hand of poker. Each of the whole crew had a bar that was closed down by the Feds. There was Mr. Doton, Mr. Smith (nicknamed Rattlesnake) and Mr. Beale. The most infamous was the Condemned Bar which was along the pioneer trail that was owned by Odlaw (Waldo's twin brother) . There are many stories associated with Odlaw that we won't go into now. Of course they suspect a BIG cover up. The game started at 5:85pm (yep you'll see) This hand Waldo dealt Clockwise. (gb gur yrsg :) Free parking off Auburn-Folsom blvd (I think). I parked at Beales Pointe Rec area.
  • Stage 3: N 38 41.299 W 121 15.836 Waldo was planning on dealing this hand at Sundance's hideout. But alas there were too many agents trying to capture an escaped suspect in the area. He overheard them talking and it seems the suspect was called Black Rabbit. It was fun watching them trying to catch Black Rabbit. Quite a comical sight to say the least. Waldo decided to deal this hand across the street and across the ........... Connection failed ....... reconnected... just outside the reach of the long arm of the law.
  • Stage 4 : Waldo was visiting some friends (even Odlaw was there) at the halfway house and decided to deal them into the hand. The halfway house is halfway between these coordinates. N 38 41.847 W 121 13.465 (picnic and parking area) and N 38 42.049 W 121 13.093. There is some tree cover but Waldo averaged his readings so they should be accurate. Clue: jura lbh frr gur sbex va gur genvy gnxr vg.
  • Stage 5 : N 38 40.627 W 121 11.578 Waldo met up with Sandi (a girl he used to court) at a scenic overlook. While on their walk he spotted another ex named Barb. Uh oh!! Not quite sure how to handle the situation at first Waldo decided to do what any normal man would do, he asked if they wanted to join in the poker game. Normally Barb is hard to handle but this time she was with her friend Lyn K. so they agreed to join in. Remember watch your step because Barb likes to bluff.
  • Stage 6 : N 38 41.035 W 121 10.823 Sorry for the late post but Waldo thinks that the feds are messing with the new dsl service. I'm using dial up just to get this past the feds. Waldo visited Odlaw and his gang for this hand. It was dealt at the Moles hideout. This may be one of the hardest ones so far and yet it can be so very easy if you think in three dimensions. I think someone left the water running so watch your step. Free parking where Auburn-Folsom meets Greenback at the new Folsom bridge or if you have the park pass you will get even closer from Negro Bar.
  • Stage 7 : N 38 38.096 W 121 13.277 After failing to find a suitable hideout (four tries and a flat tire) Waldo decided to deal this one at a local drive-thru ;) Think Flintstones Mickey Dees. Do you want fries with that?
  • Stage 8 : N 38 41.620 W 121 10.339 Waldo couldn't make it to the picnic so he decided to deal this one at an old friends barn. It's not much to look at but still a neat place. His friend Earl III (great great grandson and heir of the owner of Earls Fruit Packing Co.) was trying to talk Waldo into investing into the company with the proceeds of the poker hand. Little did he know that Waldo had already given the proceeds to Jeo to distribute at the picnic. Anybody else want to invest?
