After years of paddling, camping and recently climbing, the fool
has always had a peculiar fascination for rope work and knots. Here
is your chance to learn some knots, check out a nice spot and get a
smiley….
The first stage is a hidden, knotted rope that you will have to
decipher to find the minutes of the micro log-only final. The knots
represent digits (see list below). The 10 knots or digits are the 5
north and the 5 west decimal minutes. Read the rope, in order, from
the secured (north) end to the loose end. The final is at -
N40 knot knot . knot knot knot W74 knot knot . knot knot

Knots can generally be grouped into:
Stoppers – created at the ends of ropes so they don’t slide
thru another knot or a hole
Bends – Joins two separate ropes or ends of a rope
Loops – Creates a loop at the end or in middle of a
rope
Hitches – Secures a rope to an object (loops also work)
Clicking on the knot name below will show you how to tie the
knot.
The number of the knot is the digit it represents.
Don't forget to print the
Knot Cheat Sheet and bring it with you!
Fishing muggles could be plentiful.
Please bring a pen(cil) and re-hide both stages as found.
