This cache is the replacement cache for the original Are You The One? #05 - Training Begins
cache.
This is the now the Fifth cache within the “Are You The One?” series.
The original cache went missing twice and it has taken me a little
while to find a suitable location for the replacement. This one is
DEFINITELY more difficult than the original. The original
was a micro cache and dash, while this one is certainly going to
take more effort. It is my hope that you enjoy finding it as much
as I enjoyed hiding it. On to the specifics...
This is a very physically challenging cache, before I get any
further into the description, I want to pass on some VERY
STRONG RECCOMENDATIONS.
*DO NOT HUNT THIS CACHE WITHOUT STURDY
HIKING BOOTS... SERIOUSLY DO NOT DO IT!!!
*SMALL CHILDREN SHOULD NOT HUNT THIS
CACHE
*THIS CACHE HAS BEEN SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED
TO BE STRENUOUS AND CHALLENGING, IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE WITH
THIS, THEN PLEASE DON'T HUNT IT.
*IF YOU HAVE A FEAR OF HEIGHTS, THIS IS
NOT THE CACHE FOR YOU.
*PAY ATTENTION TO THE WEATHER WHEN HUNTING
THIS CACHE, THERE ARE PORTIONS WHERE YOU WILL BE AT ALTITUDE AND
EXPOSED.
*THIS TRAIL IS MARKED FOR EXPERIENCED
HIKERS ONLY. HUNT THIS CACHE AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION.
All of the being said, I think that this is one of the best
caches that I have placed. It is definitely very challenging. If
you decide to go after this you will be rewarded with a wonderful
day hike. No puzzle, no multi... just a set of coordinates... trust
me, that will be enough.
This cache is placed very close to the summit of Saddle Mountain be sure to continue on the
summit after you find the cache, you will definitely be rewarded
with an amazing view. The day I placed this cache was very overcast
yet it was still amazing. Satellite reception should be awesome
once you get close to the cache, though there may be some spotty
areas in between though... when in doubt, keep going up.
This cache is placed at roughly 3165 feet and the summit is at
3283, so you'll be pretty dang close to the summit when you find
this cache. When you get REALLY close to the cache you'll have to
divert from the main trail to make your find. This offshoot trail
is supposedly an alternate route to the top, though I DO NOT
recommend it (it was described to me as a climbing-scrambling
route). Which is why I placed this cache just a few feet up this
trail. My suggestion... find the cache... and take the pseudo-easy
(hard packed) trail the rest of the way up.
Here are some images for you to enjoy and to let you see a
little of what you can expect:

The route to this cache is roughly 6 miles roundtrip, though my
hiking book calls it 5 miles. You will also climb almost 1600
vertical feet over this distance. You will probably want to allow
yourself 4 hours to get to the top and back down. Enjoy! I know you
will! Be sure to post your pictures!
To pique your interest further... GeoNap coin #0040 has been placed in this cache for
the first finder.
Please take the time to rehide the cache as well or better as
when you found it.
When you find the cache, you will need to pay close
attention to a grid printed on the lid of the cache. DO NOT REMOVE
this grid from the cache .
Pay attention to the EXACT location of the numbers on
this grid. You will probably want to make yourself a sketch of the
position of each number or take a picture for later
use.
**To determine the final cache location, you will need to find
the location of each cache in this series and then solve the final
puzzle. Each cache varies in type, size, design and location.**

series.
