Geocache Description:

Celebrating 10 years of Geocaching

If you've never been to an event before you'll be made very welcome, whether you are from Loughborough or farther afield.
Groundspeak celebrates 10 years of geocaching.
It has been 10 years.
10 years ago geocaching began when the military flipped the switch and increased the accuracy for all of us. Dave Ulmer went out and hid a 5 gallon bucket in the woods in Oregon and placed the co-ordinates online. Voila, Geocaching was born.

The event will be held at

The Swan in the Rushes pub, pretty much in the middle of Loughborough.

Saturday 1st May 2010 from 7pm onwards.

The event will kick off at 7 pm till the last beer drunk. We'll have the dining/family room at the Swan, off to the rear of the Lounge Bar as you enter the pub on the left-hand door from the street.

Dogs are not allowed inside but children may like the idea of (watching parents) drinking beer hence the attributes for them. Food is available and the ales are superb. The Swan was among the Top 20 UK Pubs in 2009, actually, it was the bronze medalist.

There is a bus stop by the Swan, served by bus routes 5,11,12,126,127, Sky, Sprint and many more that stop nearby.
There is limited parking in the tiny pub car park to the rear, but you can also park at the Regent Place shopping centre (waypoint attached) just round the corner for £1 all evening (after 6pm).

Come and enjoy being with fellow cachers. We will be taking a group photo to meet the requirements of Groundspeak for this special event!

As time draws near, I will be posting more about the event. Please, check back often. I'd like to offer you more than a simple evening encounter over some pints.
UPDATE: There will be some geocaches published around 10:00 on 1/5/10 in and around Lufbra. Just to keep you busy before the event itself.
I would appreciate a bit of an idea of numbers, so please can you log a “will attend”.
