Geocache Description:

Midnight Train is Polson’s first dedicated night cache. Marked with “FireTack” reflectors this cache defines what we do for fun in a small town! :-)

Midnight Train is an easy find during the day but the challenge is to find it at night without using your GPS! Here’s how: Park at the beginning of Ridgewater Drive (N 47 40.871, W 114 07.291) there is a good parking spot for 2-3 cars.

Head south along the walking trail. You should pick up the first reflector on the ponderosa tree at the beginning of the trail. The “Firetack” reflectors are quite small and are most effective when you hold your flashlight up at eye level.

You should find a trail of reflectors on the right hand side of the trail. Follow the trail for about a third of a mile until you see two reflectors side by side on the right of the trail. At this point look for the tree on the left that has two reflectors, one on top of the other. Head to this tree and you should pick up another tree with three reflectors in the shape of a triangle. Cache is here.

This cache is a small plastic tube container hanging in place.

CAUTION: As this is an area that has had mountain lion sightings in the past, please use caution, go with a friend and make some noise.
