There are numerous ways of approaching the cache, therefore it is recommended that you have a copy of the trail map of Harriman Park. The best one is published by the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference (available at www.nynjtc.org). We started our hike at the Lake Sebago Boat Launch parking area at N41º11.913’ W074º07.765. When you start here you will notice that the cache is just over 1 mile away.
THE BAD NEWS - To reach the cache you must go either over, under, around, or through Lake Wankosink. It is assumed that most cachers will attempt the around method. The shortest around method is about 2 miles walking distance.
THE GOOD NEWS - You will be traveling on some of the less rigorous trails of Harriman.
