Geocache Description:

The cache is a small ammo box hidden just off the car park at Ty'n y Groes which is the starting point for the King's Guard Trail and the two other caches in this series.

Coed y Brenin Forest Park covers an area of some 9000 acres around the valleys of the rivers Mawddach, Eden, Gain aand Wen. The rugged Rhinog Mountains lie to the west and the wild and lonely Rhobell Fawr to the east. This was once part of the historic Nannau Estate, founded by Cadwgan, Prince of powis in 1100 A.D. The Forestry Commission bought it in 1922 and today Forestry Commission Wales looks after the forest for the benefit of people, wildlife and timber production.
