Berray Mountain Lookout commands one of the best views of the high peaks of the East and West Cabinet mountains in Northwest Montana.
Off of Hwy 56 at the Sanders / Lincoln county line take road #410 (South Fork Bull River Road) for 7 1/2 miles and make a right on #2272 to the end of the road. (about 6 miles and hike up trail #1028 for 1 1/2 miles to the unmanned lookout. The trail starts out steep but soon reaches the ridge for and easy hike to the top. The view is endless mountains for 360 degrees and the area is thick with wildlife. Watch for the Griz.
