Cache is on top of hill at Elliot Mine. We placed it on a breezy, not too hot day in September. Suggested mode of transportation for this cache would be 4WD vehicle. Cache is placed nearby several abandoned mine caves- so be careful. I rated the terrain a little high in case one has to walk up the hill and because of the possible dangers of the abandoned mines. An experienced off-roader who can drive all the way to the top will find this to be an easy cache.
I recently had to replace the contianer. It is now a small lock and lock.
Take the In-Ko-Pah exit off I-8 and proceed up the hill towards the tower. The trip out to the Elliot Mine can be done in any high clearance 4WD. The last stretch of road up to the mine hill itself is a bit more of a challenge. If you decide to park it at the base of the hill it is not too far of a walk. The view from the cache site is worth it. There are also several other caches in the area.
