After many months of painstaking research, development,
prototyping, testing and tweaking, I've finally created my ticket
to Geocaching Fame and Glory! I call it Cache Bot™!!! Yes, with
Cache Bot™ the TeamAlamos™ and CCCooperagencies™ of the world don't
stand a chance against me. The plan behind its creation is
brilliant (if I say so myself) -- Simply set Cache Bot™ loose
finding caches and logging them under the "Western Mass Clan™" name
and within a matter of just a few months WMC™ will rocket to the
top of the standings! With no need to sleep or eat, a nuclear-slug
power supply (should run down sometime in the year 4582), built in
GPSr, metal detector, sonar & X-ray equipment, multi-terrain
capabilities, detachable digital Robotic Hover-Camera™, logging
time stamp, puzzle decryption & solving software, and a
wireless cellular internet interface ... Cache Bot™ is the perfect
caching machine!
As a matter of fact, not only is Cache Bot™ capable of finding
caches, but it's also programmed to hide them as well! Below is a
photo of Cache Bot™ logging an ammo can cache in Western
Massachusetts on its first official independent field trial several
weeks ago. Cache Bot's™ detachable Robotic Hover-Camera™ captured
this image of the unit immediately after it had signed the logbook
and closed the ammo can. I had programmed Cache Bot™ to hide a
cache for me after it had logged this one.
Cache Bot's™ 7x7 LED display has a multitude of purposes
including system status, rudimentary topographic display, waypoint
bearing, and last but not least - coordinate display. The
Coordinate Display Feature™ is a handy way for me to locate Cache
Bot™ in the wild if it should ever become disabled - if the unit
breaks down, coordinates are automatically displayed and the
Robotic Hover-Camera™ beams me the image. The coordinates for the
next target waypoint are also briefly displayed between finds /
hides to allow me to properly sequence the caching photos (of, say,
virtual caches, etc.). However, to make the coordinates fit on the
limited 7x7 LED display, I had to come up with a clever way of
encoding them.
Your job is to decode the coordinates listed on Cache Bot's™ 7x7
display. In the below image the coordinates for the location of
this puzzle cache are already displayed on Cache Bot's™ 7x7 LED
display - which is how I know Cache Bot™ has already logged the
cache it is holding. Coordinates are always displayed for one
minute before it sets off for the next waypoint location. Decode
Cache Bot's™ 7x7 LED display and you'll be rewarded with the cache.
I also instructed the Robotic Hover-Camera™ to send me a closeup
image of the display - so you don't have to squint. There is a
Geochecker.Com™ link below for you to confirm your coordinates.
The cache is a medium sized 6"x6"x4" camouflaged lock-n-lock
container. It contains our signature
cache-specific souvenir "Cache Bot™" jumbo wooden nickels (bragging
rights! Woo hoo!) that we keep stocked in all our puzzle
caches. Feel free to take one
when you find the cache. The cache also started with 3 new
trackable WMC Jumbo Wooden Nickels™ (yes, you read that correctly)
launched in honor of this cache.
CONGRATULATIONS to Dosido and Chief20r2 on their Co-FTF
on this cache. Team Dilemma™ strikes again!
First to Find Prize: FTF will receive an
unactivated 2006 Massachusetts Geocoin (nickel), an Original Cache
Stash Tribute Plaque pin, a customized FTF "Cache Bot™" wooden
nickel ... and ... a reservation for one
of the FIRST (#005) handmade pewter cast WMC™ geocoins planned for
production in the Winter 2007/2008.
