Husk at
kirken desværre lukket for indvendig renovering indtil efteråret

This cache is part of a series of caches which focuses on the
new map of Denmark, following the reform of local government in
2007. There are caches in all 98 municipalities and 5 regions. To
find a region cache you have to locate all municipality caches in
the same region. If you manage to find all 5 regioncaches, you will
have the coordinates to the final "Danmark" cache.
This cache contains the codes for Københavns Kommune. Please
make a note of them.

The cache is located at Vor Frelser Kirke (Our Saviour Church)
in Christianshavn, Copenhagen. The church spire is quite unique in
that the top part of it is accessible on an OUTSIDE stairway.
Climbing these stairs on the OUTSIDE of the spire is a unique, and
somewhat frightening, experience. The stairs get progressively
narrower, until finally it is only a few inches wide. I would of
course have preferred to place the cache at this exact spot, at the
end of the stairway, but that would have violated the "places that
solicit" rule, since there is a marginal access fee to climb the
tower. Further, unfortunately the whole of the church is closed for
internal restoration until fall, 2008. Quite a shame - now that the
spire is finally restored after many years of work, and then this.
But when it finally does open again, don't cheat yourself of an
unique experience, and the great view from the top.
An excellent and very detailed Wikipedia article (in Danish) on
Our Saviour Church can be found

Thanks to Gade for suggesting that the Municipality of
Copenhagen cache should be somewhere "with a view of the town" :)
!
The cache is accessible around the clock WITHOUT climbing the
fence or other obstructions.
