Geocache Description:

A silver ammo box hidden traditionally. The trail along the ravine is beautiful and at one point it can be steep. A little bushwhacking and a bit of a walk but you will be glad you did.

This cache has been placed in recognition of The Lone Ranger's 1000th Find! Extend your congratulations to The Lone Ranger by finding the cache, signing the logbook and posting you "Found It" online.

In keeping with the Chicagoland tradition, started by Fallenfaery and SpecialEd, we've placed this commemorative cache to honor The Lone Ranger.

Park at N41º 41.792 W87º 55.273 and follow the trail along the ravine then take another trail (either one works). This is one of the most beautiful places in this preserve that The Lone Ranger has introduced many people to.

We stocked the box with all sorts of cool stuff so please trade up, trade even or don't trade at all. :)

Hi Yo Silver (ammo box :) ), away!

The Lone Ranger Creed!
By: Fran Striker

"I believe that to have a friend,
a man must be one.

That all men are created equal
and that everyone has within himself
the power to make this a better world.

That God put the firewood there
but that every man
must gather and light it himself.

In being prepared
physically, mentally, and morally
to fight when necessary
for that which is right.

That a man should make the most
of what equipment he has.

That 'This government,
of the people, by the people
and for the people'
shall live always.

That men should live by
the rule of what is best
for the greatest number.

That sooner or later...
somewhere...somehow...
we must settle with the world
and make payment for what we have taken.

That all things change but truth, and that truth alone, lives on forever.
In my Creator, my country, my fellow man."

Anyone that has met Dan comes away with the feeling of the words above. It is obvious why he chose “TheLoneRanger” as his nym. This is a man that is honest and sincere. . A true asset to our sport, who always has time for others. For those that have never met Dan, seek him out, you’ll be glad you did. .

Dan’s “Pumping Iron” multi-cache series still stands today as a testament on how it should be done. A full day (or more) in a vast area taking one on a fun trek through one of Cook County’s best. This also stands as one to be modeled after. It is a truly a wondelful experience.

“The Red Gate” Series - One of the most important events in history are chronicled in this series, taking you to the actual monuments at the locations of this event.

Be sure to take the time to visit these caches right here in this very preserve.

So this cache is dedicated to the TheLoneRanger marking his milestone 1,000th find. At last, he is now reunited with Silver. Live long and be happy Dan, you certainly deserve it.
